Last weekend, We made the trip to North Carolina for the first ever POWR MX Pro shootout at Hog-Heaven MX park. It was the first event from this newly founded organization focusing on Women MX racing.  $15,000 was up for grab for all Pro Women’s racers in purse money, special awards and a Dash-for-Cash race.

Eve was really excited to be racing with some of the fastest women in the world, including the 3 times world champion Kiara Fontanesi and veteran Pro racer Tarah Gieger.

Saturday was the practices and time qualifiers plus the $1000 Dash-for-Cash at the end of the day. Eve was able to set the fifth fastest laptime in the time qualifying session, within a couple of second from the leaders group.  In the 3 laps Dash-for-Cash race, Eve rounded up the first corner in about 6th or 7th place, but managed to make a couple of quick moves and came out from the 3rd corner in first position followed by world Champion Fontanesi.  She pushed really hard the whole race and was able to keep the leading position for over half the race, only being passed by Fontanesi just before the white flag, crossing the checkered flag in 2nd position. <<Words can’t describe how proud I am to be racing with these girls, it’s probably the best I’ve been riding all year.>>, Eve said after her exceptional performance

The Sunday main events were a 3x 20 minutes moto format. Combine with all the men’s Pro moto. We knew the track was going to be super rough and would be the most physically demanding race Eve had ever done.

Her goal was to pace herself, try to go through the day without making costly mistakes and try and stay in the top five by the end of the day and that is exactly what she did with a score of 4-5-5 for a 5th overall position. Eve couldn’t be more proud of what she accomplished that weekend, being by far the youngest competitor in the leading group.

Eve would like to thanks POWR MX for putting up this great events and look forward to what they have planned for next year. Hopefully it will not conflict with our Canadian series.

Also Jimmy Weinert for the concrete pad start tips, looking out for her on the track, giving her some good advices and words of wisdom before every moto she attended.

All this wouldn’t have been possible without the help of her partners:

Englishtown WMX

After spending the last month attending some local races here and there, the last 2 weeks have been filled with excitement and challenges for Eve. On our schedule were the Kawasaki Race Of Champion at Englishtown Raceway and the Vurb Classic at MX207.

Englishtown marked Eve's first ever US WMX's race.

Saturday was the amateur day and since we didn't make it in time to attend the Friday's practice, Eve decided to race the Women Open class prior to Sunday's WMX race. We were in for a mud bath as it rained all Saturday morning and condition were a little extreme. Eve ended up 3rd overall and was ready to take on the challenge to race the fastest women the next day.

Sunday morning, the qualifying practices started up on a good note with the 4th fastest lap in practice #1 and the 5th one in practice #2. Once again, Eve was able to clinched both holeshot on her powerful KTM 250SX and was running at a comfortable pace in 4th position in both race but ended up making costly mistakes, tipping over in the first race and going off the track losing some valuable time in the second one. Overall she ended up finishing 7th. All-in-all, it was a really good experience and Eve learned a lot that weekend racing on a very challenging track with these well established WMX women. We will build from there and see how we can improve for next year.

VurbClassic

Last weekend was the VurbClassic at MX207. We've been hearing how amazing this track and facility was for a long time and were very excited to spend our Canadian Thanksgiving weekend in this picturesque region of southern Maine. In the Friday's practices, Eve took note on how fast the last year Vurb Classic winner and local racer looked like. She knew it wasn't going to be a walk in the park but was ready to take on the challenge.

The first Women moto of the weekend (in a 4 motos format) was epic as Eve and Brittany Gagne were going at it really hard, going back and forth for the lead, banging bars in corners and in the air with Eve edging Brittany by only a couple of second at the checkered flag. Moto 2, 3 and 4 were identical with Eve taking the holeshots and being chased by Brittany the whole race, crossing the checkered flag in first position going 1-1-1-1 and winning the Women VurbClassic's class.

Eve also race the schoolboy class for the first time on a KTM 250SXF four stroke motorcycle. She looked good and had some good battles in a class stack with some fast intermediate riders.

Next race on the schedule is the POWRMX Pro shootout at Hog Heaven in North Carolina. It will be the biggest Women race of 2014 in the US with all current and ex-pro WMX racers planing to compete for a $15,000 purse.

Again, Eve would like to thank all of those supporting her in her racing venture:
