Last weekend was the 2nd round of the Eastern Canadian Women National.  Eve was really looking forward to this race as she had been the fastest Women on the track when they had the provincial series race in May. Unfortunately it didn’t go as planned. Her timing and aggression were not where it should have been since it was only her 3rd time on the bike since she broke her arm a month ago.

Eve suffer a bad start in moto 1 , exiting the first turn in around 12 place. She was able to move up to 5th by the end of the race.

She started in 6th place in the second moto and was in an intense battle for 3rd place when Eve and Chloe Poncia-Myre went down hard on a jump. She was able to remount but was in last place and made a charge in the last couple of lap to finish in 18th place.

Not the type of weekend she was looking for, but Eve is looking to rebound next week as she will be participating at the biggest amateur race in the world, the AMA Loretta Lynn’s national championship in Tennessee. Her goal is for a top 10 but she will have to step up her game as she will be competing against the fastest girls in America.

Next step will be Sand-Del-Lee for the last round of the Women Canadian National, then we’re off to Walton for the Canadian Amateur National.

Eve would like to thanks  her sponsors for their continuous support:

After breaking her arm in a provincial race on june 23rd, Eve was back racing last weekend. Despite not being able to ride or train for the last 3 weeks, Eve didn't want to miss the first round of the Eastern Canadian Pro Women National. Practice went ok but it clearly showed that timing and shape were not up to par. Eve started in around 8th place at the start of the first moto and quickly moved up to 5 on lap 2, and was putting pressure on #114 around mid race forcing her into a mistake to take 4th place, where she stayed up until the checkered flag.

Eve had a bad start in the second race and was around 15 in the first corner. She quickly made a couple of passes and was in a 3 way battle for 5th place. Then her lack of training the last couple of weeks and her weak shoulder forced her into making mistakes and she went down in a corner losing some ground on 5th and 6th place. At that point her arm was killing her and she finished the race in survival mode, but was still able to make a pass on 6th place rider with 2 lap to go to finish the race in 6th.
At her first ever Pro race, at only 12 years old, Eve's 4-6 result was good enough for a 4th place overall. Eve was hoping for a top 10, so she is really pumped going into de second round in Ste-Julie july 22.

After Ste-Julie Eve is heading south of the border to participate in the Loretta Lynn's AMA amateur National in Hurricane Mills Tennessee.
