It's that time of the year again, the leaves are changing colors, the early morning are getting colder and the overnight travelling to attend important races is translating into no sleep and a worn out driver/mechanic.

About a month ago we received an invite from our friend Cynthia, (an ex Quebec women racer that now lives in Ohio), to attend an event she was helping promote at the Western Reserve MC track. They had a women's PRO class with a $1000 purse. These are the type of races we really like to attend so it wasn't a hard decision to make. Plans were made and we left Friday night, going for a nine hour drive to Canfield Ohio. We got to Cynthia's place at 6:30 am, just enough for a little nap before we headed to the track for Saturday's open practice.

We got to the track to find out that it was something totally different then what we have back home in Quebec. It was very fast, hard pack, tilled only on surface with no ruts developing and most of the jumps were doubles and step-ups. Compare to our tracks that are sands, very rough and have mostly tabletops type of jump. Although it was a type of soil she likes, we knew it would be challenging for Eve to get accustomed to these conditions.

Saturday practice was good and even if it took longer than usual, by the end of the day she had mastered most of the jump and slick corners.

Upon arriving at the rack on race day, we noticed there were more women's than on Saturday and a bunch of PRO WMX and some of the top Loretta's finishers would make it for a challenging day.

Eve pulled the holeshot in the first moto only to be passed after a couples of corners by #55 Kaylynn Kotlar, she was then battling for 2nd, 3rd and 4th spot with #743 Raeslee Wiemer and #53 Tonya Mantcsh. She made a couple of mistakes while being put under pressure and had to settle for 4th by the end of the race.

In the second moto, she almost pulled the holeshot again while they were going three wide exiting the first turn. Eve was battling the all race with # 53 and hold on to the 3rd spot to the checkered flag on her way to a third overall.

All in all, it was probably our most productive weekend of the summer as Eve had to get out of her comfort zone to battle with the track conditions and all these fast women's much older than she is.

It was a great weekend, We made a bunch of new friends. All of Eve's competitors were very friendly and made us felt welcome.

Special Thanks to Cynthia for having us at her place and the great Hospitality

Next race is the last time they will ever be hosting a race or practice at the picturesque circuit of St-Apollinaire near Quebec city as it is closing forever after this race. Sad to say as it was one of the best race track in the country............
