National Ranking System offers riders exposure that was never possible until now!

It wasn’t long ago that the only way for racers, sponsors, fans and your competition to see how a rider did over the season was to randomly search a number of club and organization web sites around North America. Even then it was difficult to gauge where a rider ranked, how many classes they went in, where they finished, how many parts, accessories, fuel, they used and what exposure they received for all their effort.

This edition of the racer news is dedicated to an 11 year old young lady from Laval, QC named Eve Brodeur. Eve competes in the Girls, Women and 85cc classes around the country. Highlights for Eve’s 2011 season include two podium finishes and a third place overall at this year’s Loretta Lynn’s Amateur National Championship in the 9-11. Eve also finished first overall in the Women’s Junior class for the CMRC Competition’s West Provincial Championship and wrapped up her phenomenal season with a 10th overall in Supermini at this year’s Montreal Supercross.

But what’s truly amazing about Eve’s 2011 racing season is that she also sits in third overall on National Ranking System with 11,411 points. Just 2900 points behind the number one place holder Cole Thompson! So how does a young 11 year old lady get to the top of the National Motocross Ranking’s? Eve loves to Race!
To be at the top of the National Ranking System a rider has to compete and do well at events that have a high level of competition and they also have to race regularly. In Eve’s case though, there is nothing regular about her 2011 racing season! This young lady lined up at the gate an astonishing 70 times so far this season and it isn’t over yet. These seventy races weren’t just local either. Eve did the complete CMRC Competition Provincial Series, Loretta Lynn’s area and regional qualifiers and the Grand National; she traveled Walton, New York, Florida, and Ontario. Even that though is not unheard of for a top amateur racer. What separates Eve from the majority of the top amateur riders is that when she did show up at a race, she entered an incredible average of 4 classes at most events, and sometimes it was five. You can check out Eve’s full results by clicking here.

Eve accomplished this year what most of the top amateur riders in the country only dream of, her dedication, commitment and training program are second to none.
This brings me to the last point. Lining up at the gate seventy different times in one season offered Eve’s sponsors and supporters a great deal of exposure and they should be applauded for helping make it possible. The bad news is that it also means that there where a ton of companies that benefited from Eve’s commitment
and dedication that couldn’t have known how much each one actually benefited from the young motocross rider from Laval, QC. Every company’s product Eve and her family used from the time they left the house to the time they returned could have been a candidate for some kind of support. The National Ranking System helps expose the benefit of supporting racers to companies outside of the traditional industry sponsors that no other club, organization or website in North America has done. The National Ranking System was created to help you the racer and your family continue you dreams. Please help us continue making MXRanking a valuable tool for racers everywhere by telling your fellow riders, fans and competitors to about us. The more racers we have like Eve the more support our favorite sport will receive in the future!

See you at the races!

For the fourth time since 2007, I raced at the Montreal Supercross October 1st weekend. In 2007 I raced the KTM minister and in 2009 to 2011 I raced the 65cc,85cc and this year they had the Supermini class in the afternoon program between the PRO qualification. Racing against the boy, with the top Quebec and Ontario racers, My goal was to get a top 15 finish.

One of the two practice session was Friday, so I had to miss school all day Friday :) . In the first practice I had the 17th best laptime, same for the Saturday morning practice session. I'm a slow starter I guess. Most of the boys we're jumping all the doubles on the track and I wasn't. Then came race time, that's when I'm at my best. The gate dropped , I had an OK start but some of the boys ran into each other and I was able to avoid the pile up. I pushed really hard all race dropping my lap time down about 5 seconds from my practice time. I made a last passed on the last lap for a 10th place finish !!!! It's way better than what I was expected and I am really happy with my weekend. Great week-end, with great friends, and a superb race. What can I ask for more !

Busy week-end for me, it started off with a 1 hour enduro in Victoriaville. It started out good with the holeshot. I had to fight to keep my first place for the first half of the race and was able to pull a 1 minute lead in the second half of the race. My 105cc can do just a little over 1 hour with a full tank of gas, but a wide open kind of track like Victoriaville It was gone be pretty tight. Unfortunatly a passed the finish line just under the 60 minute mark so they sent me for another lap and I ran out of gas about 1000 feet before the checkered flag. I manage to finish 2nd because a had lapped every other girls except the first place finisher. No need to say I was a little disappointed.

The next day we headed to Sand-Del-Lee for the last round of their Ironman series, I raced the women and the 85 7-11 class. Racing the women class was the multi-time Canadian National champion Heidi Cook. She raced only the first heat, we heard she was having some stomach pain. She gave birth to about a month ago and it might have been too soon to come back racing. I finish 3 in the Women class and 6 in the 85cc class.
