Last weekend, We made the trip to North Carolina for the first ever POWR MX Pro shootout at Hog-Heaven MX park. It was the first event from this newly founded organization focusing on Women MX racing.  $15,000 was up for grab for all Pro Women’s racers in purse money, special awards and a Dash-for-Cash race.

Eve was really excited to be racing with some of the fastest women in the world, including the 3 times world champion Kiara Fontanesi and veteran Pro racer Tarah Gieger.

Saturday was the practices and time qualifiers plus the $1000 Dash-for-Cash at the end of the day. Eve was able to set the fifth fastest laptime in the time qualifying session, within a couple of second from the leaders group.  In the 3 laps Dash-for-Cash race, Eve rounded up the first corner in about 6th or 7th place, but managed to make a couple of quick moves and came out from the 3rd corner in first position followed by world Champion Fontanesi.  She pushed really hard the whole race and was able to keep the leading position for over half the race, only being passed by Fontanesi just before the white flag, crossing the checkered flag in 2nd position. <<Words can’t describe how proud I am to be racing with these girls, it’s probably the best I’ve been riding all year.>>, Eve said after her exceptional performance

The Sunday main events were a 3x 20 minutes moto format. Combine with all the men’s Pro moto. We knew the track was going to be super rough and would be the most physically demanding race Eve had ever done.

Her goal was to pace herself, try to go through the day without making costly mistakes and try and stay in the top five by the end of the day and that is exactly what she did with a score of 4-5-5 for a 5th overall position. Eve couldn’t be more proud of what she accomplished that weekend, being by far the youngest competitor in the leading group.

Eve would like to thanks POWR MX for putting up this great events and look forward to what they have planned for next year. Hopefully it will not conflict with our Canadian series.

Also Jimmy Weinert for the concrete pad start tips, looking out for her on the track, giving her some good advices and words of wisdom before every moto she attended.

All this wouldn’t have been possible without the help of her partners:
