Englishtown WMX
Englishtown marked Eve's first ever US WMX's race.
After spending the last month attending some local races here and there, the last 2 weeks have been filled with excitement and challenges for Eve. On our schedule were the Kawasaki Race Of Champion at Englishtown Raceway and the Vurb Classic at MX207.
Saturday was the amateur day and since we didn't make it in time to attend the Friday's practice, Eve decided to race the Women Open class prior to Sunday's WMX race. We were in for a mud bath as it rained all Saturday morning and condition were a little extreme. Eve ended up 3rd overall and was ready to take on the challenge to race the fastest women the next day. |
mfortable pace in 4th position in both race but ended up making costly mistakes, tipping over in the first race and going off the track losing some valuable time in the second one. Overall she ended up finishing 7th. All-in-all, it was a really good experience and Eve learned a lot that weekend racing on a very challenging track wit h these well established WMX women. We will build from there and see how we can improve for next year.
VurbClassic
Last weekend was the VurbClassic at MX207. We've been hearing how amazing this track and facility was for a long time and were very excited to spend our Canadian Thanksgiving weekend in this picturesque region of southern Maine. In the Friday's practices, Eve took note on how fast the last year Vurb Classic winner and local racer looked like. She knew it wasn't going to be a walk in the park but was ready to take on the challenge. The first Women moto of the weekend (in a 4 motos format) was epic as Eve and Brittany Gagne were going at it really hard, going back and forth for the lead, banging bars in corners and in the air with Eve edging Brittany by only a couple of second at the checkered flag. Moto 2, 3 and 4 were identical with Eve taking the holeshots and being chased by Brittany the whole race, crossing the checkered flag in first position going 1-1-1-1 and winning the Women VurbClassic's class. |
Eve also race the schoolboy class for the first time on a KTM 250SXF four stroke motorcycle. She looked good and had some good battles in a class stack with some fast intermediate riders.
Next race on the schedule is the POWRMX Pro shootout at Hog Heaven in North Carolina. It will be the biggest Women race of 2014 in the US with all current and ex-pro WMX racers planing to compete for a $15,000 purse.
Again, Eve would like to thank all of those supporting her in her racing venture:
