After being on the road for 5 weeks, travelling across 18 different US states and attending the first 2 WMX races, it's now time to head back home for some well deserved rest.
I spent the first 2 weeks training at JWTF before leaving for Florida where I rode different tracks and raced the Pro Circuit shootout in Tampa MX. Then we were off to Daytona Beach.
The first WMX race of the season was at Daytona, a tight supercross track. It was not something I am used to, so it was a rough and hard weekend for me, I couldn't keep it on two wheels. After a first turn pile up in the first moto, I worked my way up to a 7th place finish. Unfortunately, after starting off moto 2 with a good start, I went down hard and I had some issues with bike afterwards. I left from Daytona with a 12th position overall and lots of bruises.
We stopped at GPF in Georgia for a couples of days before going to Texas for round 2 of the WMX series.
I'm now on my way back home after an amazing trip where I met a lot of amazing people and where I learned a lot. Our goal coming in was to place between 5th and 8th, and i'm getting closer to braking the top 5 every weekend. It will happen sooner or later! It's now time to recharge, look foward and get ready to fly to California in 3 weeks for round 3.
PS. Thanks to @mmarkelon for hauling my bike to California!
Je suis maintenant sur le chemin du retour après un superbe voyage où j'ai rencontré plusieurs personnes et j'ai beaucoup appris. C'est maintenant le temps de se reposer et se préparer pour la Californie dans 3 semaines pour la troisième manche.
